Brindle Community Hall all day. History day with a Brindle theme; cost to be advised.

Monday, 27th October - “The East Lancashire Railway Co., 1846 to 1859”

A talk by Frank Watson from Accrington. Frank was a Footplate Inspector during the steam railway era and has researched the history of the fledgling railways in East Lancashire before they were absorbed into the larger Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway Co.


Monday, 24th November - "Brindle Pubs"

An illustrated talk by our Secretary, Steve Williams.

26th January - "Flooding on the River Ribble - the wet history of Walton-le-Dale" by Ian Whyte
23rd February - AGM followed by ‘Dip into the Archives’
23rd March - "Preston North End in the Tom Finney era" by Steve Williams
27th April - "Maps in Local History" by Paul Hindle, Secretary of Manchester Geographical Society
18th May - To be advised [note date is one week earlier than normal due to late May Bank Holiday]
22nd June - To be advised
28th September - "Neighbours - Hoghton over the years" by Steve Williams.
26th October - To be advised
23rd November - "The history of Brindle Parish Council, 1894 - 2009" by Darren Cranshaw.


Venue and times

Meetings and are normally held on the fourth Monday of each month in Brindle Community Hall, starting at 7.30 p.m. There are no meetings in July, August or December.
