About Us

Brindle St James’ Church
Brindle Historical Society was formed in June 2002 with the aim of “researching, studying, recording and/or preserving (when and where possible) the history of the area in and around the village and parish”.
Not wishing to be too restrictive, members agreed that the Society “shall also be the forum for promoting the study and understanding of any historical or related subject that members choose”.
Today, we have over fifty members from the village and surrounding area and meet ten times a year, usually on the third Monday of the month at 7.30pm in Brindle Community Hall.
Membership is open to all with an interest in local history or all matters historical. Whilst junior members are more than welcome, we do ask that they be accompanied by an adult at all meetings and events.
Brindle Historical Society records history locally and maintains an archive accordingly. We are always pleased to receive more items and information for our archive.
