Private William Worthington
A photograph of a Brindle man who served in the First World War has been donated by members of his family, who now live in Manchester.
Private William Worthington was the son of the local Estate Bailiff and joined the King’s Own Yorkshire Light Infantry at the outset of war. Sadly he did not see active service as he was drowned in the North Sea on the 16th June 1915.
The photograph and full details will also appear on our sister website, www.brindle-at-war.net.
